Local Councillor, Jenny Budgell is standing for re-election to Chippenham Council in Lowden & Rowden in this year's local election.
Having grown up in south Wiltshire, I have now lived in the Chippenham area for over 30 years including the last 29 in Lowden and Rowden. I run my own business on Bumpers Farm and work to support local businesses across Chippenham with a range of services including bookkeeping and accountancy. Living and working in the town for so long has meant that I have a great understanding of Chippenham and its specific needs.
For 20 years I have been a governor of a Chippenham primary school and am a volunteer mentor with the Wiltshire Community Involvement Team. I was a trustee of Chippenham Borough Lands Charity for the full eight years permitted, giving me a wealth of knowledge in both the history of Chippenham and the needs of the residents and organisations.
I have just completed my first four years as a Chippenham Town Councillor which has been both challenging and enjoyable. I have been an active member of the Finance Working Party, the Planning, Environment and Transport (PET) Committee, the Human Resources (HR) Committee and the Strategy and Resources (S&R) Committee as well as engaging with as much other Town Council activity as possible. I'm very proud that I have attended 29 of my allocated 30 Town Council meetings in the last year and would very much like to continue to represent Lowden and Rowden for the next 4 years.
