Local campaigner, Chris Higman is standing for Chippenham Council in Monkton Ward in this year's local election.
Chris Higman was born in Llandrindod Wells in 1944. He is an engineer, formally in retirement but still running his international engineering consultancy. He moved to Chippenham in 2017 from Schwalbach near Frankfurt, where he was for many years a town councillor (with a British passport) for the German liberal party, the F.D.P.
Since moving to Chippenham, he sings in the choir of St. Andrew's church, where he also works on the committee for rebuilding the organ. He is on the committee of the Chippenham Twinning Association.
"I am a convinced believer in the principle that local decisions should be taken locally and will work with like-minded councillors in this spirit. In particular, I will be working to prevent the massive building development between Monkton Park and Bremhill proposed by Wiltshire Council."
Chris lives in Monkton Park.
