In its meeting on November 24th Chippenham Town Council has elected former Mayor Desna Allen (LibDem) to be Leader of the Council. For the Sheldon ward councillor this will be the fourth time she has been elected Leader of the Council in addition to two terms as Mayor.
Cllr Allen said: "I am very pleased and honoured to have been nominated and voted for as Leader of the Council.
"I am keen to continue to work with my colleagues and officers to develop the new Corporate Strategy Plan which will set priorities for the council moving forward and embrace the challenges we face with tackling the climate emergency.
"I remain fully supportive and champion the Community Safety Forum which brings together local businesses, organisations, charities and individuals to share information and support in making Chippenham a safe and vibrant town."
